About the clubs
The clubs cater for Juniors (under 18) and/or Seniors. Members who joined as Teenagers often remain or return as Seniors. What the clubs offer is the opportunity for everyone to get together, enjoy each other’s company and have fun.
Phab clubs also provide valuable support for families and carers who can sometimes feel isolated. Siblings belong to the same club and families are able to enjoy events and activities together.
All clubs are encouraged to meet on a regular basis and nationally at conferences and events such as the annual Heartbeat Hike in London’s Hyde Park.

Clubs
(See Phab Clubs with their own Web site ..)
There are two ways of
thinking about people with disabilities – we can focus on the disability
or we can focus on the people, Phab prefers to focus on the people.
Since 1957 when the first club was created, Phab has supported a network of clubs across the UK run by members for the members. Each organises its own activities.
There are two awards for which you may make nominations.
The Paul Hope Award , created in 1999 recognises the late Paul Hope’s immense contribution to Phab over many years as Director of Club Services and Training. The award is in the form of a specially commissioned Caithness Glass trophy and bursary of £1000 and will be presented to a person(s) in recognition of outstanding work or achievement in fulfilling the Phab aim.

The Louis Goldberg Award , presented in memory of the late Louis Goldberg, for many years a devoted supporter of Phab. This award was created especially to recognise the very same qualities but for a young person up to the age of 25 and carries a bursary of £250.
